There are good transport links to and from the city. Winchester train station is also within 10 minutes walking distance of West Hill House.
The city of Winchester is a beautiful slice of history in the Hampshire countryside. Developed from a Roman town. It is a wonderful place to live with ancient architecture and one of Europe’s largest cathedrals.
There is a food and produce market every Wednesday, and if clothes and music are your thing you can swing by the vintage and retro village on the first Sunday of the month (Mar-Dec).
Winchester also hosts a number of festivals throughout the year, including comedy and music, food and drink.

Each room has been highly refurbished to ensure the utmost attention has been taken to provide some of the finest student accommodation in Winchester! Every room is unique across the development with no room being laid out in the same way.
All Small Double Ensuite rooms consist of a double bed, a double wardrobe, spacious study area topped off with their own private en-suite bathroom. They are between 10-11 sqm in allowing you a good amount of space to relax in.
All standard Double Ensuite rooms consist of a double bed, a double wardrobe, spacious study area topped off with their own private en-suite bathroom. Slightly larger than our Small Double Ensuite at between 11-12 sqm, these give you even more amounts of room to relax in.
The largest of our rooms is the fantastic Deluxe Double Ensuite with a staggering amount of space to live in (between 12.5 and 16 sqm) and to call your own. Each room is made up of a double bed, a triple wardrobe, spacious study area with a modern private en-suite bathroom.
Each flat, made up of between 3 and 7 rooms, have an ultra modern communal kitchen & living area, each with dishwasher, fridge freezer, oven & hob. Large flat screen TV’s are in all the communal living areas. In addition to this a free communal laundry rooms is available for all residents.
Externally is a large outside space to chill out in the summer months, with some picnic tables, a fantastic BBQ area and bike store. There is even a table tennis table (with bats & balls available) to get an inter-resident tournament running whilst sitting out in a perfect sun-trap.
Yes. Where possible we will try to put you with your friends. When applying for your accommodation you should let us know your preferences including the names of your friends. We will contact you to confirm your request.
Please be aware that once you have signed your contract to stay with us, unless due to exceptional circumstances, you will be tied into the contract and expected to cover the cost of your room unless you are able to source an alternative resident to take over your contract.
If you have concerns that you might not be able to stay with us (due to VISA issues, etc.), please speak to us at the earliest opportunity.

We sometimes get requests to see if people can move in early, we will try and do our best to accommodate any requests where possible, but please be aware this isn’t always possible due to previous residents moving out. Please call your accommodation directly to check the availability.
Your accommodation is cleaned for your arrival. Once you have moved in you will be responsible for cleaning your room and any shared areas within an apartment.
Your room is furnished but you will need to bring the essentials such as:
Bed linen (duvet, pillows and sheets)
Kitchen utensils, including saucepans, plates, cutlery and glasses.

We will undertake full room (and communal areas where applicable) inspections at least three times during your tenancy period. We will check for cleanliness, damage and for missing items.

Heading to University is an incredibly exciting time but if it’s your first time away from home you may also be feeling a bit nervous. We’ve put together a freshers’ guide which we hope will give you an idea of what to expect and to help you settle in to Freshers’ week and university life. The main thing to remember is that everyone is going to be in the same position as you so be yourself and you’ll be great!

Apply as soon as possible in order to book your room, we cannot guarantee your room will be available; if you book early you will improve your chances.
To secure your reservation of the room, Martin & Co will require 1 weeks rent. Please note, if you withdraw at any stage of the application, this fee is non-refundable.
Upon reference’s being completed they sign the tenancy agreement you will be required to pay the remainder of the 1st months rent and deposit 2 months prior to tenancy start date.
If you are able to provide a UK guarantor that meets the criteria set out by Martin & Co or use Housing Hand, you will be able to pay monthly in advance. If you are unable to proved a suitable UK based guarantor, you will be required to pay the full contract upfront prior to your tenancy start date.
Your weekly rent includes all electricity, heating and water bills and room internet access.
However, we follow a ‘reasonable use policy’ and if we feel your use of any of the utilities (electricity or water) is excessive, we will notify you of our concerns, and if the excessive use does not change, we reserve the right to charge you for such excessive use.
If you lose your keys, please request contact Martin & Co for a new set, you will need to pay for a replacement set.

To live at one of our properties you must be 18 or over, on or before, the start date of your tenancy agreement.
No. Your Tenancy Agreement is a legally binding document and you are subject to the terms and conditions of that contract.
As a tenant on a fixed term assured short hold tenancy you cannot end your tenancy early. You may find a replacement tenant for your tenancy as long as they take over the full length of your contract and pay the rent in full.
No. Smoking in the accommodation is forbidden.
Unfortunately we cannot allow pets.
Each cluster flat has access to laundry facilities in their kitchen/living area or in an external laundry room. These are included within your rent and operate on a fair usage policy.
Free high-speed internet and wifi is available throughout the building(s), including bedrooms.
