Whether you’re after somewhere to go for a quick pit stop before your morning lecture, or somewhere to sit back and chill with friends for lunch, we’re certain you’ll find a cafe to suit your needs in this North Wales city.

1. Blue Sky Cafe & Taproom
The people have spoken and Blue Sky Cafe & Taproom has been ranked as number 1 on TripAdvisor for the best cafes in Bangor so, of course we’ve got to give it a feature!
Situated just off from the busy High Street, this cafe is super easy to find and is only a 10-minute stroll from Bangor University.
If you’re on your way to campus in the morning, why not stop by?
Take shelter from the cold with their wood burning stove, cosy seating and of course amazing coffee.
Choose from their menu of locally sourced coffees and teas, whether it’s a Dirty Chai Latte, a Cortado or a Flat White you’re after, that’s just naming a few!
They even offer up a menu of delicious dishes to choose from with an all day menu running from breakfast up until late at night.

2. Domu
Up next is Domu, an independent family-run cafe located on Bangor High Street.
If you’re searching for somewhere to get a nice tasty cuppa when you’re on the move, take a visit here as their coffee is blended on site!
Their extensive menu features tons of different types of coffees so no matter what you’re after we’re sure you’ll find something to tickle your fancy.
We’d have to recommend their Flat White or Mocha but go and choose for yourself!
That’s not all either, they also serve up tasty vegetarian and vegan dishes if you’re feeling peckish.
Although they don’t have a traditional menu to take a look at, they post their daily dishes outside the building so no two visit’s are the same.

3. Yugen Coffee House
Situated less than a 10-minute stroll from Bangor University, you’ll find Yugen Coffee House inside Debenhams at the Menai Shopping Centre so it’s super conveniently located.
At Yugen’s, they follow the motto that specialty coffee is like a work of art and they love art – wow, we like the enthusiasm!
Their high quality coffee is sourced from Allpress Redchurch with a choice between the likes of a cappuccino, mocha, latte, americano, the choice is endless.
If you’re looking to relax and kill a few hours in between lectures, you could also give their loose leaf teas a try – they’re served in a super cute glass teapot.
After that cuppa Joe, you’ll probably be feeling a little hungry so, make sure to give their vanilla cheesecake a go!

4. Kyffin Cafe Deli
Another favourite when it comes to Bangor cafes to get your daily caffeine fix is Kyffin Cafe Deli.
Renowned as Bangor’s first vegetarian and vegan cafe, this place is not only known for its delicious menu of yummy foods, but their drinks menu is quite the catch too.
With 10 different coffee beans to choose from and 40 loose leaf teas, it’s safe to say you’re spoilt for choice.
Our go-to for a coffee break would have to be their activated charcoal latte, yep, you heard it right.
It’s creamy, healthy and super tasty!
If you’re wanting to go all out and treat yourself for working so hard, feast upon their array of cookies, cakes and truffles.
How could we forget, they’re also dog friendly so prepare for the cute vibes to be flowing at this place.

5. Whistlestop On The Pier
Picture this, it’s a nice sunny day, you and your friends are heading out for a nice walk along the pier, but you’re craving a coffee to warm you up.
Well, thankfully Whistlestop On The Pier is located just halfway across the pier for all your caffeine needs.
Beloved by locals and students this little place is our absolute favourite for a cappuccino and some homemade scones with jam.
Their seafood chowder is the talk of the town too, if you fancy giving it a go.
Not to mention, the views from this place are just next to none with the pier overlooking Anglesey and across to Snowdonia. Coffee with a view? Don’t mind if we do!
Mates’ dates have never been better than at this cafe, grab a cuppa and see what all the fuss is about.

6. 1815
1815 is a friendly coffee shop and tapas bar found on Waterloo Street, just a 2-minute walk from Deiniol Shopping Centre.
If you’re looking for a place to go to chill with your mates and enjoy a brew then be sure to check this place out.
They offer up tons of coffee for you to choose from but we’d suggest trying out their Vanilla Latte.
Not only do they offer up different syrups to decide between, but you can also choose skimmed or soya milk, as well as decaffeinated options.
To top it off, they even serve up a variety of breakfast and lunch options, light bites and of course their legendary tapas dishes.
You really can’t go wrong with a well-needed brew and a bite to eat here!

7. Caffi Clena
Caffi Clena is one of the best coffee shops in Bangor with a really quirky vibe and lovely ambience.
As a student, you need all the caffeine you can get to fuel you up for studying so be sure to order their Chai Latte when you take a trip here.

Another great aspect about this place is that their food is super student budget friendly and literally mouth-watering.
With Korean loaded fries, American pancake stacks, Sticky tofu burgers and so many more amazing plates to choose from.

We really can’t praise Clio Lounge enough, it ticks all the boxes of a good cafe with friendly vibes, quick and easy ordering through their app and absolutely top notch coffee!
Enjoy a nice cuppa whilst having a natter with your flatmates with their coffee supplied from Clifton Coffee Roasters.
They offer tons of different brews so if you’re a coffee lover you’re in luck, we reckon their Mocha’s are just unrivalled.
The best part? You can choose from soya milk, coconut and oat milk as well as a mixture of different syrups.
If you’re wanting to sack off cooking lunch, make sure to try their lunch deal with a mug of soup and half a panini for just £5.75.

Despite being relatively new in comparison to other Bangor coffee shops, Phoenix Cafe is the perfect place to sit down and refuel after a busy day on campus.
With picturesque surroundings, a menu of stellar Turkish food, friendly service and great tasting coffee, we’re certain you’ll love it as much as we do.
We’d have to recommend you try their Turkish Coffee, you won’t have had anything like it before!
Although, if you don’t fancy that, they also offer up the usual selection of coffees to choose between.
You know what pairs well with a cuppa? Their Turkish Full English breakfast – be sure to try it out.

10. Penguin Cafe
The name of this cafe alone is enough to convince us to take a trip to be honest, don’t you agree?
Located on Bangor High Street, Penguin Cafe is a really friendly place known for their wide range of high quality coffee, gelato and pizzas.
If you’re wondering what to order for your daily caffeine fix, our absolute fave is their honeycomb latte with fresh whipped cream – mmm!
Plus, they’re open daily from 8am until 6pm so you’ve got all day to take a trip here.
